Before contributing

Ontario rules at a glance.

Individuals only. A contributor must be an individual normally resident in Ontario. Corporations, unions and groups cannot contribute.
Your own funds. A contribution must come from the contributor and cannot be reimbursed by another person or organization.
Contribution limits. The maximum is $1,200 to one candidate and $5,000 in total to candidates running for the same council.
Public reporting. If a person contributes more than $100 in total, their name and address must appear on the campaign financial statement.
Receipt provided. The campaign issues a receipt for every accepted contribution. It is not a tax receipt.

Your banking stays private

The campaign website never asks for online-banking credentials, account numbers or security answers. The transfer is completed through your own bank or credit union.
